Meet your Magistrates during November 08
Lancashire’s Magistrates are stepping up their efforts to get closer to their local communities, giving the public the opportunity to have more of a say in the local delivery of justice in Lancashire.
This new Community Engagement Initative is a two-way discussion. Local Magistrates find out what the local community’s priorities and concerns are, and the Local Community find out about what is being done to tackle crime and anti-social behaviour in their local area.
By better involving local communities, this initiative will help to :
- reduce crime
- reduce the fear of crime
- increase confidence that crime is being dealt with effectively
- ensure the public can have more of an impact on reducing local crime, making life safer and better for everyone.
Lancashire Magistrates will attend already established community meetings (PACT - Police & Community Together, MAPS - Multi Agency Problem Solving) and will also hold a number of dedicated local events themselves.
